Grrr!!

I have a 500GB hard disk that had all my personal and family pictures, videos, files ..and all other important stuff. One day I heard a clicking noise from it .. and my computer now doesn’t see it anymore. I’ve been trying every possible way to recover my data … but nothing seems to be working at the moment.

So min 7arreti .. I went ahead and bought a 1T (1000GB) hard disk.

I’m so irritated and mad about this.

  2. you need to keep a minimum of two backups. Most harddisks fail after about one year of continuous use. That’s when I tend to by a second one and copy everything over regardless…..

  3. hottie: It happened to me once before and magically an expert friend of mine recovered most of my data. I hope he can help me again this time.

  4. Always. while I am writing something important for the school, the winword used to shut down and i lose the file. luckily, i knew a small trick to save a backup file every 5 minutes!

  6. What torture man! If you feel brave enough, you might want to try Linux (Knoppix Live CD) and mount your existing partition(s). I’ve used it a few times to recover most of my data.

  8. ya it happens so often, a9lan el harddisk fe expiry date mn el manufacure (1-3 years).

    recovery softwares will be able to return most of the data. did u try to open the case and check it from inside? yemken loose cable shay chethy?

  9. happened to me to but from my own stupidity, tried most free data recovery programs but that didnt work , out of desperation i went to a shop in 7awwaly bin khaldoon street ( a shop on the second floor of the 3uthman complex, it was called quick solutions or something solutions) he managed to recover 60% of my documents and that cost me 35 kuwaity dinars !!! now i back up frequently on two drives. :)

  12. well, i left it with him and he contacted me three days later, so im not sure whether you can sit with him while he’s doing the recovery. in my case, my document folder contained photography of my 3 month stay in switzerland (so nothing personal or sensitive there) so i guess you should think of how badly you want your data back compared to how trust-worthy is the technician.

    as for trust: hell! i wouldn’t even trust myself ! :)

  14. yeah happened to me so many times !! and my work is WORK not just pictures and all lol :D and i cried myself to sleep that day .. and my uncle told me to always have a backup files some where else .. so from that day on i always keep a copy .. i have one backup on a flash and the other one on a removable disk !! just in case .. and keep updating it !! i dont wana lose all my data again i’ll literally go nuts !

    one of my freinds is really into this stuff, and recovered the stuff for me every single time

    i think if you go to one of those comp shops in 7awalli or smtn they can recover the stuff :)
